These photos were taken spontaneously of yard clippings tossed away and awaiting disposal as "green waste."
While referencing recognizable still life tropes, they clearly exist outside the boundaries of what would typically be considered as beautiful subject matter. I am attracted to documenting the transient beauty of nature and considering at what point its degradation is viewed as nothing more than suburban waste. By presenting these universal images in high detail, rich color and selective composition, I am attempting to elevate their status to a level once again worthy of contemplation, and thereby also redefining them as art. |
